Georgia Southern Alum Selected as Commencement Speaker

STC_Kabore_MortonDr. Ahmed Kabore, recent alumni of the DrPH in community health behavior and education at the Jiann-Ping Hsu College of Public Health Georgia Southern University (JPHCOPH) was recently chosen to be the commencement speaker for Savannah Technical College’s 2016 graduation at 6 p.m. on Thursday, June 16, in the Johnny Mercer Theatre at the Savannah Civic Center.

Kabore lost his mother to malaria in 2001. That tragic experience motivated him to make a positive difference in the lives of others. A native of Burkina Faso, West Africa, Kabore moved to the United States in 2005 and enrolled in Savannah Technical College’s ESL program.

Dr. Kabore completed both his master’s degree in public health and doctorate of public health with a concentration in community health behavior and education at JPHCOPH.

The dream continues for Kabore, who recently accepted a position with the new government in Burkina Faso to build a public health system for the country.
