Welcome to the website of the Karl E. Peace Center for Biostatistics. The Karl E. Peace Center for Biostatistics is a biostatistical consulting center within the Jiann-Ping Hsu College of Public Health (JPHCOPH), Georgia Southern University.

The goals of the center are to function as a technical operations support center to Georgia Southern University and to the external community engaged in health related research; particularly in the areas of pharmaceutical drug, device, or biologics research and development. Support and services provided address all phases of the research process, including research planning (experimental or research design, research objective, sample size determination, data collection form design, protocol development, etc.), data management, statistical analysis, interpretation of the results, and report/manuscript development. The center also provides specialized courses, such as biostatistical aspects of the research, development and regulation of pharmaceuticals, and plans to provide support to the Georgia Cancer Coalition (GCC).

We support The Master of Public Health degree with an emphasis in Biostatistics and the Doctorate of Public Health degree in Biostatistics. The primary focus of the programs is to prepare students in practical and computational aspects of design and analysis of experiments used in research and development of pharmaceutical products useful in the prevention and treatment of diseases. Clinical trial support is a major focus. Graduates of the programs can have exciting and rewarding employment opportunities in the pharmaceutical industry and the government agencies such as the CDC and FDA.

We look forward to meeting with you to develop a career in the area of biostatistics. Thank you for your interest in our center.
