Biography:

Raymona H. Lawrence recently completed her coursework and became a candidate for the degree of Doctor of Public Health in Community Health Behavior and Education in the Jiann Ping Hsu College of Public Health at Georgia Southern University. She also received her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and Master of Public Health degrees from Georgia Southern University as well. She is currently the University Wellness Program Director for Georgia Southern University. Mrs. Lawrence is also the Co-Principal investigator for the Medical University of South Carolina's REACH-SEA-CEED (Jenkins County Diabetes Coalition) project.

Before obtaining her current position, Mrs. Lawrence was a graduate assistant and worked as the project coordinator for the W.K. Kellogg Foundation's New Tools, New Visions 2 Initiative. Prior to becoming the project coordinator for the WKKF New Tools, New Visions 2 project, she was a middle school science teacher for the Candler County Board of Education. Her hobbies include exercising, dancing, and singing. She has been married for 7 years to George Lawrence and has a 2 year old little girl named Geonna. Her future plans are to direct a public health initiative in a community/ campus based setting. She also desires to become a leader in the field of public health genetics by creating a model of genetics education that can be utilized and understood in community health education.
