Purpose
The Public Health Practice Advisory Board is composed of members of the public health workforce within Georgia. This Board will range in size from 10-15 public health practitioners. The administrator of the Office of Public Health Practice and Community Service within JPHCOPH will oversee the meetings and the functioning of this Board. Members are appointed by the Dean in consultation with the faculty on an annual basis. The Public Health Practice Advisory Board is responsible for the following:
- Advising the Dean on issues related to the practice of public health within Georgia;
- Advising the Dean on curriculum related issues important to the public health practice community;
- Assisting in the development of community-based partnerships for research and outreach/practice opportunities;
- Assisting in the development and maintenance of practicum experiences for our students;
- Assisting in the development of workforce development continuing education programs to be offered by JPHCOPH; and
- Communicating JPHCOPH information to the public health workforce within Georgia.
